EXECUTIVE MANAGER: CLEAR AA WITS (AD.07)

The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Wits School of Governance (WSG) through the Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results Anglophone Africa (CLEAR-AA), invites qualified individuals of substantive stature to apply for the following executive positions on a two year renewable contract basis at a market related remuneration package.

Reporting to the Director, the incumbent will be expected to support change management within a rapidly growing Centre by bedding down operational systems.   The position will be the focal point for human resource management, systematizing quality assurance measures for CLEAR’s work and seeking out collaborative opportunities within Wits University.

The incumbent will be expected to:

  • Draft and implement CLEAR’s Sustainability Plan, including regular financial analysis of the costing model’s within CLEAR’s 4 existing program areas
  • Establishing and managing HR systems for CLEAR staff, associates and affiliates, inclusive of staff development plans
  • Reviewing existing Supply Chain Management systems with suppliers in relation to projects/programmes/short courses/workshops/events and putting in place systems for improving the efficiency in how these are currently managed
  • Systematizing quality assurance measures of CLEAR’s work to ensure client feedback of services provided contributes to continuous improvement in CLEAR’s work.

Requirements: • A Master’s degree in Business Management, Business Science or Organizational Development. At least ten years’ experience in senior level position relating to operational management of a non-profit centre, of which a minimum of 5 years involved human resource management. Advanced computer literacy and familiarity with accounting software packages (preferably ORACLE or SAP) • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong project management experience and report writing capabilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluency in English) • Willingness to travel both locally and international when required.
