Basia Bless is a Senior M&E Technical Specialist at CLEAR-AA where he is leading the Innovations inAfrican Evaluation business line. He holds an Msc in Development planning from Wits University as well as a PGD and Mphil in Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of Stellenbosch. He is currently pursuing PhD in the area of monitoring, governance and evaluation at the University of Wits. For the past fourteen years, he has been working in a number of areas including research, programme management, gender and monitoring and evaluation.
He started his career as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Southern African Studies at the National University of Lesotho where he also worked as a lecturer in the Department of Development Studies. During his time at the University, he published a few articles with special focus on gender and HIV/AIDS within the context of urban development and planning. He has also worked as a National Programme Officer for gender and Monitoring and Evaluation at the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) where he was responsible for programme design, implementation and evaluation. He has special interests in Theory Based Evaluation approaches.
